                        PRINTIT

This disc represents the state of PRINTIT at 16th April 1987.


PRINTIT prints out files. You will need to create such files  with 
a  word  processor that will produce Ascii text. You can  do  this 
with  LocoScript by choosing the Make Ascii option after you  have 
created your file. There are some ready-made sample files on  disc 
to get you started.

The  program  runs  under CP/M  You will need  to  switch  on  the 
computer and load CP/M. On the PCW you simply insert the CP/M disc 
(side 2 of the LocoScript disc), and let the machine do the  rest. 
When  CP/M  has  loaded, you will see the A>  prompt.

To  operate the program, you will need to 'type' the manual  to  a 
printer. Do this as follows.

Make sure that your printer is plugged in and switched on (he said 
between clenched teeth).

To 'type' the manual with an Amstrad or Epson printer, insert side 
2 of the PRINTIT disc, and type at the keyboard: 

PRINTIT MANUAL

followed by Enter

If  you  have a CPC and are not blessed with  an  Epson-compatible 
printer, then type:

PRINTIT -S MANUAL

You  can send the result to the screen instead of the  printer  by 
typing:

PRINTIT -C MANUAL

but the result will not be formatted properly.

If you just want to see a sample printout on an Amstrad or  Epson-
compatible  printer, then insert side 1 of the PRINTIT  disc,  and 
type:

PRINTIT PRACTICE.DOC

or 

PRINTIT TEST.1


The  main files are on side 1. Only the manual and PRINTIT  itself 
are on side 2.

On the PCW printer, PRINTIT is not fast, but it's impressive!
